The museum currently contains a number of important paintings, photographs, writings and artifacts concerning Hennepin County. The highly imaginative displays and exhibits are continually changing, updated, and added to. The curator keeps this facility in the best condition possible despite the limited maintenance budget. The curator is also the creative force behind the displays and revolving exhibits. Originally this building was a private residence built for George H. Christian in 1919. It wasn’t until 1957 that it became the home of the Hennepin County Historical Society.
