William O'Brien State Park Contact Station
New Contact Station for William O'Brien State Park:
Completion in 2005
At William O'Brien State Park, the DNR requested "a new image, rooted in the past" for the design of their Contact Station. The new design is a striking upgrade to the older and smaller building located at the site. Exterior materials used for the contact station include Kasota stone, heavy timbers, and wood siding. The interior is an attractive and inviting space for park visitors with warm wood tones and vaulted ceilings. In addition to the new contact station, there was an expansion and renovation of the existing sanitation building, which includes restrooms, showers, and vending for the campers.
